Michael Dee

Michael knew musical theatre was for him when he was no more than five years old when he visited his first West End theatre, the iconic London Palladium. His family were always going to see shows and usually took Michael along with them – there were never any protests.  

Eventually working on “the dark side of the stage” Michael is an alumnus from the technical theatre & design course of the now Mountview Academy although, back then, it was based at Crouch End, with the famous backstage theatre tree. 

Theatre & Stage Management, Design, Technical Hires & Sales, TV & radio presentation, through to establishing an agency representing award winning international creatives and developing unique approaches to making award winning corporate events and broadcast media packages happen without the faff, these are just a few of his “favourite things”. 

Now joining the team here at Box Office Radio, Michael is relieved that finally he can share some of his secret pleasures of musical theatre with everyone and is excited to hear what yours are too. He says that he is supercalifragilisticexpealidotiously excited to be behind the microphone to share his love of theatre with you.

My Favourite Musicals are – Carousel; Oliver! & Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang 

My Favourite Movies are – Muppet Christmas Carol, Mary Poppins, The Producers 

My Favourite Song is – Keep it Gay from The Producers, I defy anyone to not smile listening to it (but preferably watching) 

The First Musical I Saw – Oliver! 

My Favourite Performer is – Matt Blaker (Completely biased as he is my nephew!) 

My Other Favourite Thing is – Organising and participating with charitable and community related events & Land Rovers
