Gemma started performing at a young age in shows for her local amateur dramatic society in Hertfordshire. She played a variety of roles including playing the left arm of the Audrey 2 plant in Little Shop of Horrors before deciding her skills set was more useful backstage.
She trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, doing the Drama Education course, and then worked for the Shakespeare for Schools Company as a Stage Manager. She has also worked backstage on The Producers and the Lion King, as well as being the Event Control Manager for the Green Man Festival in Wales.
Gemma now runs an events company in East Sussex and in her spare time enjoys helping at her local youth theatre group. Away from work, Gemma likes to go on long walks and once walked 100k straight through to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. She is an experienced radio presenter and loves being part of the team at Box Office Radio.
You can hear Gemma on Tuesday afternoon presenting The Afternoon show and on Sunday evening from 8pm-10pm hosting the Musical Jukebox Show.
