Matty Dickinson

Matty started life in the glorious seaside town of Skegness, where he fell headfirst into show business at a very young age. Learning his craft from old-school hook acts in the wonderfully glamorous world of variety taught him everything they don’t put in textbooks, timing, resilience, and how to survive backstage on a windy promenade.

From there, he spread his wings and headed to London to train at Mountview, which opened the door to an incredibly lucky career. He has performed all over the world, worked with some truly amazing people, and collected a lifetime of stories along the way (most of them safe for radio… mostly).

Many years later, it felt right to return home and swap sides of the curtain. He stepped into the world of creative production, developing events  for companies and experiences across the UK, and went on to produce and host Pride festivals filled with colour, in celebration of the LGBTQ community spirit and creating inclusive events for everyone.

Matty says that joining Box Office Radio feels like the perfect full-circle moment. “I’m so excited to be back on the mic, sharing stories, music, laughter, and a lifelong love of entertainment. I can’t wait for you to join me—this next act is going to be a good one”.
