The sequins sparkle brighter than ever in a brand new show from The Lady Boys of Bangkok, Full Moon, a gloriously extravagant evening of song, dance and laugh-out-loud entertainment that proves this long-running spectacular has lost none of its irresistible appeal.

From the moment the music begins, Full Moon sweeps the audience into a whirlwind of colour, glamour and high-energy fun. It is a show that knows precisely what it wants to deliver — a joyful escape from everyday life — and it succeeds magnificently. For two hours, the world outside simply disappears beneath a shower of glitter and disco lights. The production moves at a tremendous pace, leaping from pop classics to modern chart favourites with dazzling confidence. Every routine is delivered with precision and personality, while the cast radiate warmth, humour and charisma throughout. There is a genuine sense that the performers are enjoying themselves every bit as much as the audience, and that infectious energy fills the entire venue.

Visually, the show is an absolute feast. Costume changes arrive at such speed it scarcely seems possible, each outfit more extravagant than the last. Towering feathers, sparkling gowns, dramatic headpieces and shimmering fabrics transform the stage into a carnival of colour. At times it feels less like a theatre performance and more like stepping inside the world’s most glamorous party. What truly elevates Full Moon is its sense of humour. The show never takes itself too seriously and is all the better for it. There is cheeky comedy woven throughout, along with playful audience interaction that keeps the atmosphere relaxed and wonderfully inclusive. Laughter ripples around the auditorium almost constantly, balanced perfectly with moments of genuine theatrical spectacle.

The choreography deserves enormous praise. Every dance number is tightly drilled yet performed with effortless flair. The ensemble work is particularly impressive, with routines bursting with energy from start to finish. Whether performing high-tempo pop numbers or elegant slower sequences, the cast display remarkable versatility and stamina.

Musically, the evening offers something for everyone. The soundtrack is cleverly chosen to keep the crowd engaged, blending nostalgia with contemporary hits to create a non-stop celebration of feel-good entertainment. The transitions between numbers are seamless, ensuring the momentum never dips for a moment. There is also a refreshing warmth at the heart of the production. Beneath the glamour and comedy lies a genuine affection for entertaining people. The audience is welcomed into the fun rather than merely watching from a distance, and by the finale the entire venue feels united in shared enjoyment.

The crowd response speaks volumes. Applause thundered through the theatre after nearly every number, while cheers greeted each new surprise appearance and spectacular costume reveal. By the closing moments, many audience members were dancing in their seats, completely swept up in the joyous atmosphere. In a world where many productions strive for seriousness and spectacle at the expense of simple enjoyment, Full Moon proudly embraces pure entertainment. It is colourful, flamboyant, funny and unapologetically exuberant — exactly the kind of night out guaranteed to leave audiences smiling long after the curtain falls.

The Lady Boys of Bangkok remain masters of feel-good theatre, and Full Moon is another sparkling triumph. Bright, bold and bursting with personality, it is an evening of escapism that delivers exactly what audiences come for: glamour, laughter and a thoroughly fabulous time.
