Encore! - Tuesday at 8:00pm
Bernard is a real East Ender, brought up in London and was an award-winning journalist in Fleet Street with the Daily Express, Mirror, Sunday Times and Daily Mail. But there was another string to his bow as he played drums with several known bands - including with Screaming Lord Sutch - and thus knew anybody that was anybody in the music industry of the Swinging Sixties.
By accident, one evening, he was asked to compere a show simply because he had a suit on. A new age dawned and since then he has compered at the Royal Albert Hall several times, played major venues throughout Britain as well as overseas, given after-dinner talks at the Houses of Parliament and is still in demand for talks and his one-man theatre show.
In addition he is Managing Editor of Encore! magazine which champions live entertainment. He has interviewed and become friends with many of the entertainment and sports worlds' biggest stars. He is also an experienced radio and TV broadcaster.. His sheer love of entertainment means that his shows are always fun, full of great music and memories and, best of all, you never know which star is going to appear on the show next!
